"Only rainbows after rain,
The sun will always come again,
And it's a circle circling,
Around again, it comes around."
Mattigan is doing GREAT today! Our doctor called this morning to say she is doing well and Mama is here with her. Showing signs that she is ready to come off the ventilator and back to the oxygen line. She opened her eyes and watched me while the physical therapist showed me some ways to calm her when she gets mad. (Since we can't just pick her up.)
Matti is feeding again at 1cc every three at 9-12-3-6. She's bouncing back and forth between needing low uv and not so she might do a little sunbathing, She's going to get a new PICC line in the next couple of days. We asked about the infiltration if it's likely to happen again since it did once already. It's the same chance as it was before. It happens but not often. She'll also be off the vent most likely tomorrow. She could today but we're giving her a break so she doesn't stress out too much. She does have a heart murmur but again it's a preemie thing. (I swear that's our new slogan - it's a preemie thing.). It'll most likely resolve on it's own.
P.S. Note on last night's post, it was easily the worst day of our lives watching Matti struggle so much. But when we got home Joe found that there were flowers, cards, and packages in the mail. And I found messages on Facebook and my phone from everyone. So thank you to everyone for thinking of us. Whether it is a note or a gift or a message to say we are in your thoughts, it means everything to us that we aren't alone. It will never be easy for us to leave Matti at the hospital or even for her to just be in the NyICU, but it's better when we can picture all the good thoughts winging her way like owls at Hogwarts. :)
